The Chris Lehmann keynotes look at the importance of re-vamping the current education system. He believes that kids are often force fed irrelevant material, as opposed to creating an environment that allows them to flourish and enjoy what they are learning. Lehmann is the Principal at the Science Leadership Academy in Philadelphia, PA; he holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Pennsylvania in English Literature. He has also achieved a Master's degree from Colombia University’s Teachers College in English Education.
Lehmann has received several awards and recognition throughout his career, including the 2012 Lindback Award for Excellence in Principal Leadership in the School District of Philadelphia. He was also honored by the White House for his educational reform initiatives, and was named a ‘Champion of Change,’ in September of 2011. Lehmann has also contributed to educational publications such as the School Library Journal, and the Principal Leadership Magazine.
He is a motivational speaker who has spoken at conferences all over the world, including TEDxPhilly and the National Association of Secondary Schools Conference. Lehmann has also worked with many schools as a consultant within the United States and England. He co-edited the book titled, ‘What School Leaders Need to Know about Digital Technologies and Social Media,’ and is also the author of the education blog called,‘Practical.’ The Chris Lehmann keynotes provide valuable information on how to reform the current education system, in order to bring it up to speed with the 21st century.
