Commander of U.S. European Command and NATO's Supreme Allied Commander Europe
The James Stavridis speeches give specialized military insight into the workings of foreign policy and global security.
In 1984, Stavridis graduated from The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy with a master's and Ph.D in international relations. For this, he won the Gullion Prize for his work as an outstanding student. In 1992 he graduated from the United States National War College.
Upon graduating he was posted as the commander of the USS Barry, Destoryer Squaddron 21 and Enterprise Carrier Strike Group in the Persian Gulf area. He has been recognized for his talent with the Battengerg Cup Navy League's John Paul Jon's Award for Inspirational Leadership. As the 'Global War on Terror' broke out, he was the Director of the Navy Operations Group.
After proving his valuable worth, he left the field in 2004 and joined the U.S. Secretary of Defence as an assistant. He became the Supreme Allied Commander Europe in 2009.
Drawing from a long career as a successful military leader, the James Stavridis speeches stress intercommunication as the pillar of peace-keeping.
