Julie Taymor is a well-known director who has publicly given speeches on directing, creativity and her process. Over the course of her career Taymor has received two Tony Awards and an Emmy Award. She's also been nominated for numerous other awards, including Academy Awards. Some of her works include her stage musical The Lion King, a stage production of Spider-Man, the film Frida, and The Tempest, starring Helen Mirren.
After graduating high school, Taymor went to Paris to study theater arts. She also enrolled in a summer program called The American Society for Eastern Arts in Seattle.
Taymor's overall goal is to bring audiences works that fully capture the story being told, while providing them with stunning visuals and a unique experience.
