The Prudence Carter talk is on the role of diversity and how to successfully integrate schools. As a sociologist and researcher, the speaker studies how society operates, specifically how different groups of people relate to each other and how we all contribute to social inequality in society through our behavior. She also currently works as a professor of sociology at the Stanford Graduate School of Education.
As discussed in the Prudence Carter talk, the speaker first attended Brown University as an undergrad, receiving a ScB in Applied Mathematics and Economics. She then went on to earn her MA in Sociology and Education, M Phil in Sociology and eventually PhD in Sociology at Columbia University.
