Teacher, Poet, Voice Actor

Taylor Mali's speeches focus on the nobility of the teaching profession. Having taught for nine years in a classroom environment, Mali is now a poet and is one of the few poets who hold only this profession.

Advocating for teachers around the world, Taylor Mali's speeches passionately express the honor and pride in his past profession. In April of 2012, he completed his 12-year mission, Quest for One Thousand Teachers, which helped create one thousand teachers through "poetry, persuasion, and perseverance." Mali is also the author of 'What Teachers Make: In Praise of the Greatest Job in the World' and received the New York Foundation for the Arts Grant in 2001 for another project, 'Teacher! Teacher!,' a one-man show that depicted a life of teaching, math and poetry. His performance garnered him a prize in toe 2001 Comedy Arts Festival.

The poet graduated with a BA. in English from Bowdin College and an M.A. in English and Creative Writing in Kansas State University. He also studied drama a the Royal Shakespeare Academy as well.
