Wayne Pacelle

President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Humane Society of the United

As the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Humane Society of the United States, Wayne Pacelle's keynotes focus on how animals are treated in society.

At nearly 10 million members, The Humane Society of the United States is the largest animal rights organization in that country. It is easy to imagine the difficulty in directing and coordinating such a large organization. However, this has not stopped Pacelle from helping to pass 15 federal statues to protect animals and working across the country in statewide ballot measure initiatives. In particular, Pacelle focuses on animal cruelty. He has fought tirelessly against such barbarities as cockfighting and dog fighting. Pacelle has also worked to protect great apes in their native habitats.

Pacelle is also an author. His book, 'The Bond: Our Kinship with Animals, Our Call to Defend Them' has been applauded by such animal rights figures as Jane Goodall. As is true of his writing, Wayne Pacelle's keynotes are compelling calls to action and well reasoned accounts of animal welfare.
