The powerful keynotes delivered by Zainab Salbi passionately elucidate the need for life and survival amidst war.
As a young girl, Salbi grew up in Iraq which compelled her to devote herself to the cause of women in war. After moving to the United States at the age of 19 she wrote two books and worked to spread awareness of the inhumane conditions women living in war are constantly subjected to.
Salbi graduated from George Mason University with a Bachelor of Individualized Study degree in Sociology and Women's Studies and from London School of Economics with Master's degree in Development Studies. Salbi started Women for Women International under the understanding that although violence starts with women progress also does. The foundation fights to provide women survivors of war with the tools and resources to move from crisis and poverty to stability.
