Gabe Zichermann

Editor at Gamification.Co, Conference Chair at Gamification Summit

Coupled with his impressive background in strategy, marketing and e-commerce, Gabe Zichermann's keynote career developed organically through his desire to disperse new ideas about the video game industry with the public.

After completing a BIS in Human Intelligence/Gifted Kids/Statistics at the University of Waterloo in 1994, Zichermann then went on to pursue a Marketing MBA at Rollins College. After graduating in 1998, he held several positions in the e-commerce and marketing spheres before becoming the facilitator for the Founder Institute's NYC chapter in 2009. At the institute, he gives lectures and mentors entrepreneurs which has greatly attributed to helping him hone his public speaking skills.

He is the also chair of the Gamification Summit and Workshops where he helped develop the first conference focused exclusively on the ability to use video games and game mechanics in all facets of life; from web-based applications and business strategy to education.

Zicherman is also the Editor at Gamification.Co and authored the book 'Game-Based Marketing' where he explores the potential that video game technology has for learning and teaching new skills.
