In 2012, Khan was named as one of the most influential people in world by TIME 100. Prior to launching his venture, he was working as a hedge fund analyst, from which he departed in 2009.
Khan holds a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in mathematics, electrical engineering and computer science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He also achieved a Master's in Business Administration from the Harvard Business School. Khan has been featured on programs such as CNN, The Colbert Report and PBS News Hour. In 2010, Google awarded his company with 2 million dollars in order to enable the creation of more videos, as well as translated versions into several different languages.
