High School Student, Intern and Donor at Flying Horse Farms
Catherine Plasket's keynote speeches remind those who have suffered from a traumatic injury that willpower, motivation and positivity are essential components to a successful recovery and a return to a normal life.
The teenager is a high school student at Upper Arlington High School and suffered from a Grade Three concussion and a Traumatic Brain Injury in 2010. Despite the tremendous adversity she had to overcome to cope with her brain injury, the young achiever sought out Flying Horse Farms, a camp in Mt.Gilead, Ohio that is a haven for children with serious illnesses, to help her overcome her challenges.
The work done by the organization and the importance of remaining mentally and physically stimulated despite barriers is addressed in Catherine Plasket's keynote speeches. The young speaker has worked with the organization to help create opportunities for financially struggling families to be able to send their children to the camp when they may not have been able to do so otherwise.
