His book sparked what is considered the 'Lean Startup Movement,' where new businesses are strategically efficient with their resources. The Silicon Valley entrepreneur is also an avid blogger within the technological entrepreneurship community. In 2004 Ries co-founded IMVU Inc., a 3D social network where users can customize avatars, chat online and play games with other users.
