Jake Porway's keynotes are in keeping with the idea that technology can be the great social change of the future. By creating apps and other technological ideas that contribute to social good around the world and move causes forward, we can actually solve the problems of today and the future.
As the Founder and Executive Director at DataKind, Porway has taken his technological expertise and applied it to a non-profit that is known for "connecting expert data scientists with social and civic causes to better use data in the service of humanity." The work that has been done with this young firm has already been featured with the United Nations, the White House and National Geographic.
A graduate from Columbia University at the Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science, Porway received his MS in Computer Science before attending UCLA where he got his MS in Statistics and later his Ph.D in the field.
