Joss Whedon's keynotes discuss the importance of embracing and promoting debate and dissent. Whedon is a highly acclaimed director and writer with many successful sci-fi works under his belt, including Television's Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the hot action film The Avengers. He has also found success in adapting Shakespeare for the screen with his recent film Much Ado About Nothing. His other series, a Buffy spin-off Angel, Dollhouse and Firefly as well as his work with Marvel have cemented him as popular figure in the sci-fi crowd.

The keynotes by Joss Whedon serve up life lessons with large laugh-out-loud humor and witty quips. During the writer's strike of 2007 and 2008, Whedon took an enterprising approach and created an online web series, Dr Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, which proved a great success.
