Paul Ekman

Paul Ekman

The Paul Ekman speeches reflect his ability to detect lies as an American psychologist. Ekman is well-known for his work with studying emotions and facial expressions. Ekman's most notable discovery was that of the micro-expression, which shows up on a person's face for only fractions of a second but reveals a hidden emotion.

Ekman created what's known as an atlas of emotions that contains over ten thousand facial expressions and analyses them. He is often referred to as a human lie detector because of his expertise in the area of reading facial cues.

Paul Ekman studied at the University of Chicago as well as New York University. Ekman has previously been ranked 59th out of the 100 most cited psychologists of the twentieth century.
