The Rutger Bregman talk in favor of a universal income discusses poverty. The journalist for Amsterdam-based online platform The Correspondent has been nominated twice for the European Press Prize. Some of his articles include 'Long Live Intrinsic Motivation. Or Why It's Time to Ditch the Carrots and Sticks,' 'Why Do the Poor Make Such Poor Decisions?' and 'The Solution to Just About Everything: Working Less.'
The Dutch speaker is also the author of the 2017 book 'Utopia for Realists: The Case for a Universal Basic Income, Open Borders and a 15-Hour Workweek,' which is discussed in the Rutger Bregman talk. The speaker is the author of three other books on economics, history and philosophy, including 'History of Progress,' which won the Belgian Liberales award for best non-fiction book in 2013.
