Sarah Kay

Spoken Word Poet

The presentations by Sarah Kay invite audiences to embrace the intricacies behind storytelling, to consider it not only as a pastime, but an opportunity to live an alternate life vicariously through someone else's.

Kay graduated from Brown University but her career started long before that. At a ripe age of 14, she sat in on performances at the New York Bowery Poetry Club, eventually becoming a part of its culture, teachings and nightly line up. She was the youngest person to compete in the National Poetry Slam, but obviously met success as she was invited to perform at countless festivals thereafter. She has given a TED talk in 2011, spoken at the International Baccalaureate, as well as at a Cannes Lions Creativity Festival. She has recently become the founder and co-director of Project V.O.I.C.E, an operation that hopes to cultivate youth expression through the art of spoken word.

She published one book, titled 'B.'

Bookended by masterful spoken word performances, the presentations by Sarah Kay inspire creation and spark imagination.
