Founder of TerraCycle
Tom Szaky is an eco-business entrepreneur who has given speeches about his company TerraCycle. Szaky attended Princeton University, but dropped out before graduating. It was while he was at Princeton that Szaky realized that worm feces could be used to create organic fertilizer. He borrowed money from close friends and family to start manufacturing this fertilizer. In 2004 this product started doing well and can now be found in Target and Walmart.
Tom is the founder of a company called TerraCycle, which essentially makes garbage and turns it into something else entirely. TerraCycle creates handbags from juice pouches and shower curtains from wrappers. Szaky aims to change the way people think about garbage.
